Palmer & Krisel, Gregory Ain, Garrett Eckbo, Eichler
From the world of Southern California Architecture: I have just been assisting a family with an updated appraisal of their original Palmer & Krisel home in Northridge. This small tract was developed by Stanford Adler in the mid 1950's and has some amazing elements: river rock trim, clerestory windows, oversized garages, and quite unusual, to fit the budget of the times, pegboard kitchen cabinet slider doors. I had previously done another model, around the corner on Reseda Blvd.
In other news, it is good to see the attention to the works of Garrett Eckbo, landscape architect for so many A Quincy Jones projects, including a new $39,000,000 listing in Holmby Hills. He was a partner with Gregeory Ain, in the Modernique development of Mar Vista.
Since last we wrote, we have assisted another family with an Eichler home appraisal, as well as another Gregory Ain home, this time in Alta Dena. In addition to assisting with five Ain homes in Mar Vista, I have now also assisted Gregory Ain owners in Alta Dena, Van Nuys (one of his earliest), and in Silverlake, with a condo there, the Avenel development.
Possible new Eichler client in Balboa Highlands. Will have to update you later.
